Smile and act cheerful

that’s what they want

a performer

an actor

a doormat

Watch for the social

An arrogant smile

a derisive tone

a sigh of long-suffering

for having to put up

with you

And then to see their smiles

as they “help” you

as they are “sweet” and “caring”

They think themselves such

wonderful people

Such care, such concern

If they are

so wonderful

then why do you come home

feeling finally safe

at last?

a sigh of relief

to be out of that den of snakes ?
